What is the difference between a modified watch and a custom-built watch?
A modified watch and a custom-built watch are both distinct approaches to creating unique timepieces, and they differ in their processes and end results.
Every component of a custom-built watch, including the case, dial, movement, hands, and more, is selected or designed according to the customer’s desires.
A modified watch is an existing watch, often a standard production model, that has been altered or customized to enhance certain features or aesthetics.
Modifications can include changes to the watch’s dial, hands, bezel, case, movement, or other components.
A custom-built watch is entirely created from scratch based on the customer’s unique specifications and preferences.
Can I request a watch that you’ve previously built?
Certainly! Many of our customers contact us inquiring about our past builds. It’s important to note that while we make every effort to fulfill these requests, some of the components we used in previous builds are rare and may no longer be obtainable.
How long is the leadtime?
Typically, it takes 3-4 weeks for us to complete a custom order and it takes 3-5 business days for modification service (parts need to be provided).
Where do you source parts?
While there are numerous parts suppliers in the market, we maintain a stringent selection process as we are committed to delivering the utmost quality. Below, you’ll find a list of reputable suppliers with whom we have longstanding relationships, ensuring the premium quality that reflects the value you invest in.
Which movement do you use or recommend?
We select from a range of Seiko movements to best match our customers’ specific requests and budgets. TheNH35/36, known for its affordability and reliability, is a popular choice, offering an automatic mechanical movement with manual winding and hacking features. However, it has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. For those seeking a longer power reserve and having more flexibility in their budget, we recommend considering the 6R15 or 6R35 movements.
Are your watches waterproof?
After modification or assembly, each of our watches undergoes meticulous wet-pressure testing to a depth of 10 ATM (100 meters). This rigorous testing ensures that our timepieces are capable to handle the demands of everyday life, including water activities like swimming and showering.
Please understand while they are water-resistant and capable of withstanding exposure to water, we recommend avoiding any high-impact or extreme water sports to preserve the longevity of your timepiece.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes, all of our watches, whether they are modified or custom-built, are accompanied by a 24-month warranty. You can find further details by visiting here.
What is your return policy?
Custom watches are not eligible for returns or refunds as they involve substantial time and expenses associated with crafting unique timepieces.
